I haven't beat the game yet, and i don't really care. I'll get to ganon soon enough. But i've read around and people say that it autosaves and you can beat him again? How does this work?
Tell me guys. I'm really confused. Don't tell me the "after ganon cutscene" cause i know that you'll talk to Zelda and whatever but i wanna see the cutscene myself. What does it do GAMEPLAY wise?
  • #2
after you finish you get a Star and on the Map you have an XXX%/100% that shows how much is missing to 100%
It will be like you haven't beaten Gannon but I heared that there will be a DLC where you can see how the world looks after you have beaten Gannon....

You'll return to same checkpoint that you had before fighting Ganon. Your save will have a star to mark that you killed Ganon at least once, and then the game will show how much % of it you completed (counting quests, shrine quests, shrines, korok seeds, etc).
Essentially there are no quests or stories unlocked by killing Ganon alone.

DLC... I'm not buying it. I bought Zelda for $60 and i'm done after the core game is complete.
It will be like you haven't beaten Gannon
I've read this but.. What does it mean? Can i just go to the castle, walk up into his "dorm" and RESTART the fight from the beginning, go through the calamity, water, fire AND Dark Beast? Kinda defeats the purpose in my book.
If he's dead, he should be dead?

Sounds like complete bullshit unless it's just a cutscene. No way they're gonna remake the world just for a DLC.

It saves before the fight. You reload the save after fight. It doesn't save after fight. It's like it never happened. All you get is a star and it unlocks some very minor things i think.

true. It's not worth the money and work. Think; reprogram the NPC's, clean up the graphics and remove ganons goo, guardians will be good, skeleton and the gecko enemies will dissapear...
What would you fight and etc

You know what? THAT'S SO DAMN LAME. Is every other zelda game like that? I mean, is it even worth it? I have a fuckload of durian food to beat him sure, but is it really worth the effort to get nothing in return. Atleast give me some weapons and armor?
Ganon armor set 100 armor points and a "ganon's dagger" also 100 weapon points. Kill everything easily. It's like a candycane. "COME HERE KIDS! GET SOME CANDY!"

You get a little sexy star on the profile
As i just said, i'm dissapointed.

The ending is really the most disappointing bit to BotW. Then again it is more an open world game than a storyline game. Still a great game, but it's far from perfect.

True. True. <whisper> They could've put more effort into ganons part </whisper>

Yep, most other zelda games are like that, too.

That's a shame. But if i only get let's say, 2 or 3 devine beasts (4 limits ganon to 50% health) would it give ganon 80? 75? 60% health?
And if i go ahead and beat ganon, i get my "bragging star" and i save the game, go on and complete more shrines and so on and save what does beating ganon again do? Nothing? Do i get a second star? Does the BOTW cartridge jump out of my switch and kill me? What will happen?

I really don't get your logic. Don't get me wrong, its always nice to get a little more; a new game + or something, but I don't see why you're so upset the game is over. Thats it. You beat the game. The story is done and they don't wanna lock you out of the final fight. I'd honestly be pissed if they did. Practicing a speed run would be a huge pain in the ass, plus, what if you wanna just fight him again for fun? Youd have to start the entire game over and erase your save or use a new profile to do so. Screw that...

To put it another way, think of it like a book. When you finish reading, do you get pissed off if the story doesn't continue after the END of the book? Of course not.... Why are video game stories any different?

Save and use that save agai- oh yeah, you can only have one save.
There should still be an option to kill off ganon entirely but seeing your point made me use my fucking head xD

Since i were born in 2002 and only got into serious gaming when i were like 9 i have no experience with zelda games so i wouldn't know that, i got my nintendo 8bit in 2015 and i got bored of it in one sitting... THIS is my first zelda game to ever "sit down and play" and i've gottien sick last monday (
Week 36) so í've had ALOT of time to play zelda. I'm on my way to beat Which is nice.

Dunno if people mentioned this but iirc there's the normal ending and the ending that you get if you unlock all the memories. Get all the memories! It's worth the extra cutscene since it at least gives you some closure (not a lot, but it's still so much better than just beating ganon and having the game end) the story and a bit of an idea of what happens after the fight with ganon and what the dlc is about. Also don't expect a lot out of the story to begin with, it's a Zelda game. :P

Just my opinion. I'm not a zelda fan, but I like going into dungeons and solving the puzzles. This game made a drastic change to it, having SHRINES and 120 of them at that where some are just walk in and grab orb, some are just fight the guardian, and some are Use stasis rune to hit objects with momentum for precise aiming. Is like they gave a bunch a people one puzzle to make and shoved them into random shrines, meanwhile the shrines that don't really have a puzzle, are either have quest that gives enough satisfaction to just walk in and claim the prize or just beat this guardian to get the prize.

I can say more, but again, Not a zelda fan, I played the game cause of the clever design of solving puzzles and using items. If you wanna flex your brain a bit to do that, try oracle of ages/seasons. If you want a monster hunter/ Dark souls, open world exploration game, then play breath of the wild. But DO NOT play any zelda game for a STORY. Is not worth it. I'll admit that at the end of windwaker when you see link and zelda WORKING TOGETHER to fight ganondorf, it was a epic moment. Way better ending than Ocarina of time. Just don't, story is not the series strong point, especially when the main focus is exploring and discovery.

I'd imagine you'd have to fight ganon again, but I'm not too sure (also getting memories is really easy if you've explored the world and have a bunch of shrines unlocked). Or you could just watch it on YouTube if you're that lazy. :P

The part I'm talking about starts at 4:00 if your curious. I was pissed at the normal ending until the full ending started and at least gave you some insight into what was happening after defeating ganon.

you only go through the extra phases if you havent beaten the divine beasts
