Contemporary House In Bangkok Centered Around A Swimming Pool
Context is ever important when it comes to houses. This family home from Bangkok, Thailand is a prime instance. This is a project completed in 2022 by HAA Studio and replaced an onetime house which has been demolished. Some of the materials from the old structure were preserved with the explicit purpose of beingness integrated into the new design as nostalgic decorative details.
The plot is surrounded by two-story houses on three sides, with the street adjoining it on the 4th side and this meant a unique design approach was needed in social club to offer inhabitants lots of privacy but likewise creating outdoor spaces that suit their lifestyle. Creating a custom home that molds around the personalities and lifestyle of those using information technology was the main goal.
The owners bask swimming and sunbathing and this inspired the architects to center the house around a courtyard with a swimming pool and a large pool deck with sunbeds. This surface area is surrounded past buildings on all sides which gives it a individual and cozy feel but is also open up to the sky which creates a feeling of liberty and openness.
Given this courtyard-axial blueprint, the house is organized into unlike sections on top of having two floors. The first floor is adjacent to the pool and includes the principal archway too equally the main bedchamber amidst other areas. The kitchen and dining surface area are also on this level and they characteristic full-elevation windows that overlook the pool and the terrace. The 2nd floor is organized into 3 sections, namely a two-chamber area, a living room and a roof garden.
